Area Information

Lake Country is truly the best kept secret in the Okanagan Valley! Here is where the sun, water, mountains, friendly people and fun all meet.

Lake Country is made up of four different communities with a population of approximately 10,000 and growing. Winfield remains the commercial centre of the district, Okanagan Centre and Carr's Landing are both residential communities that lie on the shore of Okanagan Lake and Oyama is located on both Wood Lake and Kalamalka Lake. Lake County is mid-way between the city of Kelowna and the city of Vernon.

Recreation opportunities are a plenty within our community. Lake Country is surrounded by several great lakes including: Okanagan Lake, Kalamalka Lake, Wood Lake and Duck Lake; and many smaller ones hidden within the Coastal and Monashee Mountain ranges.

The warm, dry climate of the Okanagan Valley provides great recreational opportunities, including fishing, hiking, golfing, horse-back riding, camping, sailing, swimming, paddling and all water-borne activities.
The Okanagan Valley is recognized for its majestic mountains, refreshing waters, lush orchards, world-class golf and skiing and one of the warmest climates in Canada.

Golf: Golfers can tee off at Predator Ridge Golf Course, 5 km north of Carr’s landing. Select from three great nine-hole courses; The Osprey, The Peregrine and The Red Tail, each ranging in length from 2,600 yards to over 3,500 yards. Each course has its own style and beauty, allowing golfers to combine different courses to provide a challenging variety.
The area is being discovered by people from around the world. We have members at Predator Ridge from Dubai, Germany, Britain and the United States. I think they see us as a terrific golf and vacation destination but also a safe place to invest their money.
